HEY QUESTERS,
We all love playing games, especially the youth either on PC or smartphones. We see lots of settings in such games, hear them from the Gaming Community. Some of these common terms can be misleading or difficult to understand many times. So let's know about some of the Common Acronyms used in gaming.
3. DLSS (Deep Learning Super Sampling) - This is designed by Nvidia to deliver better image quality without putting a huge load on Graphics Cards. As the name suggests, it uses machine learning to train an AI on what a game should look like. The card can use to upscale the game, lowering the burden on the GPU resulting in higher frame rates & higher quality than traditional rendering. It is available on only 2000 series and newer cards. Eg: The Tomb Raider game supports it.
4. FSR (FidelityFX Super Resolution) - This is designed by AMD for the same purpose as DLSS, but it doesn’t use Machine Learning to do it. It works on special AMD-specific algorithms baked in helping in better upsampling without putting too much load on the GPU. Eg: FarCry 6 game supports it.
5. FOV (Field of View) - This is a setting that determines how much of your surroundings you can see. You must have heard of it in Ultrawide cameras too. In games, it's set to high when sitting close to the game & lower when sitting farther away. If set wrongly, this could lead to motion sickness to some.
NOTE: DLSS & FSR work only when the game supports it. It is mostly found on the latest tiles. Eg: Both FSR & DLSS are supported in DEATH LOOP.
I hope I was able to explain the above terms in simple terms. Like/ Dislike how you felt about the same. Suggestions & Feedback for future topics is welcomed.
