Hello Questers today India going to launch LVM3-M4/CHANDRAYAAN-3 from Satish Dhawan Space Centre, Sriharikota.
The launch can be viewed LIVE on
DD National from 14:00 Hrs. IST on July 14, 2023.
LVM3 (Launch Vehicle Mark 3) is a launch vehicle developed by the Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO). It is designed to launch heavier payloads into space and is the preferred choice for India's future space missions, including the Chandrayaan series.
Chandrayaan-3 is the third lunar exploration mission planned by ISRO. It is a follow-up mission to Chandrayaan-2, which aimed to land a rover on the Moon's surface. However, the lander, Vikram, experienced a hard landing and the mission was partially successful. Chandrayaan-3 is intended to rectify the shortcomings of its predecessor and successfully achieve a soft landing on the lunar surface.
The mission will involve an orbiter, a lander, and a rover. The orbiter will remain in lunar orbit and provide communication support, while the lander will carry the rover to the surface. The rover will conduct scientific experiments and gather data about the Moon's surface and composition.
The LVM3 launch vehicle will be used to launch Chandrayaan-3 into space. It is a three-stage vehicle capable of delivering payloads of up to 4 tons to Geosynchronous Transfer Orbit (GTO) or 10 tons to Low Earth Orbit (LEO). It has been specifically developed to meet the requirements of India's ambitious space missions, including Chandrayaan-3.
Best wishes to
ISRO for the #Chandrayaan-3 Launch Mission. Congratulations to thousands of scientists, engineers, and technicians who have worked day and night to make this mission possible.
Thanks & Regards,
