Alef Aeronautics is an automotive and aviation company based in the United States. The firm has been developing and promoting a proposed flying car intended to take off vertically and tilt sideways to fly like a biplane.

The persons behind the idea:- Jim Dukhovny, Dr. Constantine Kisly, Pavel Markin, and Oleg Petrov. All of them are technical geniuses. And the design is proposed by the famous car designer Hirash Razaghi, the same designer who designed the old Bugatti and Jaguar.

They call it Model A and it is the proposed novel design for the flying car. This fully electric car is intended as a personal ground vehicle which would also be capable of vertical takeoff and forward flight. It's a two person vehicle, and the planned flight range is approximately 180 km, and almost 320 km as a ground vehicle.

How this car works

The Alef design utilizes hub motors for land travel, while for flight it incorporates eight motor- controller-propeller system, covered by a continuous mesh on the upper surface to allow airflow during vertical flights.

The Model A employs an unusual transition between vertical and forward flight modes. Once airborne, the vehicle tilts sideways, such that the right and left sides of the car become the top and bottom wings of a biplane for forward flight. At the same time, the spherical cabin rotates and swivels sideways so that the passengers are still sitting upright and facing forward in the direction of travel.

The car has been approved for test flights and is available for pre-order for the price of $300,000. Buyers can deposit $150 to join the general queue. The firm has said that they will begin the deliveries in the second half of 2025.
