Greetings Questers ,

Here Comes the embarking on another chapter of my series, and this thread is dedicated to delving into the Mohs hardness scale and unraveling the extent of impact that screen protectors can endure.

The tempered glass products labeled as 6H, 7H, 9H, or 11H in the market are not necessarily offering significantly better protection against impacts for your mobile device.

These numbers are often marketing gimmicks for screen protectors but not for all the brands.

Let me show you guys the "Mohs Hardness Scale "

The "H" stands for hardness, and while higher numbers indicate increased scratch resistance, they don't necessarily correlate directly with impact protection.

So, the decision to use screen protectors ultimately depends on your specific needs and preferences.

If you're concerned about scratches, they can still be useful, but for substantial impact protection, you might want to consider other protective measures like a sturdy phone case.

Mohs Hardness Scale

You can find in the scale 1hardness is Talc and 9Hardnees is corundum that's why you can see most of the screen protectors named 9h because 10hardness is diamond nothing can stand in front diamond in breaking. But we can 100hardness tempered glass or screen protectors available in market which can't sustain a 1hardness impact.

Most smartphones already come with tough glass like Gorilla or Dragontrail, which is typically 6H or 7H on the hardness scale.

Adding these screen protectors may only provide a minimal increase, perhaps around 2H.

So the screen protectors mentioning in the package 9H is nothing but 7h from mobile side and 2h from screen protector side 😅.

More interesting the true H they mentioned is this below 👇 yes the 9H pencil ✏️

These screen protectors just overcome the impact of an 9H not the real 9h of mohs hardness 😂

You might be wondering if it's worth continuing to purchase screen protectors.

The answer to this question will be provided in the next thread.
