Many users want to experience 5G network service on their smartphones. 5G Network service is mainly provided by Jio and Airtel, and below are the instructions to experience 5G.

5G network usage conditions:

On Jio :

1. Hardware: Please use 5G enabled mobile phone

2. SW Version: Upgraded to the latest version

3. Network Setting: Enable 5G switch in Settings—Network & internet—SIM card & mobile network—Jio(5G preferred and SA preferred)

4. 5G Coverage area: List of Cities having 5G network coverage is provided at https://www.jio.com/5g . Even if you are in a 5G service area, strength or availability of 5G network service shall vary depending on the network as provided by the network provider.

5. 5G data plan and SIM card:

    a) Please ensure that you have a valid active prepaid or postpaid plan having standing credit equivalent to Indian Rs. 239 or above.

    b) Please make sure that you have received Jio 5G welcome message from Jio official website or MyJio App enabling you to use 5G on the device.

    c) SIM card should not be too old, damaged, or locked. If so, please apply for a replacement of SIM card.

For eg: SIMs with 64kb purchased before the 2017 maybe not be supported on the 5G network (elementary files not updated).

On Airtel:

1. Hardware: Please use 5G enabled mobile phone

2. SW Version: Upgraded to the latest version

3. Network Setting: Enable 5G switch in Settings—Network & Internet—SIM card & Mobile Network—Airtel (5G preferred)

4. 5G Coverage area: List of Cities having 5G network coverage is provided at https://www.airtel.in/airtel-5g-cities .

239 or above in order to claim and experience 5G Data.

    b) Prepaid packs of Rs. 455 and Rs. 1799 are not eligible for Unlimited 5G Data benefits.

Note: If the Jio/Airtel app prompts that "your device does not support 5G", the likely reason is that the particular model isn't listed among the 5G-compatible models displayed on the operator's system. For avoidance of doubt, it is clarified that this notification does not impact the actual functionality of your mobile phone for 5G usage as the actual synchronization with the network operator may take some time in few instances. Highly appreciate your support and understanding.
