Akash Palkhiwala, the CFO of Qualcomm, has disclosed the company's intention to lead the 6G market when this advanced technology materializes.


Palkhiwala emphasized Qualcomm's strong partnership with the Indian government in terms of spectrum allocation and the necessary network deployment prerequisites.

Qualcomm is actively involved in the deployment of 5G networks through partnerships with telecom operators and has ambitious plans to extend its leadership into the realm of 6G technology. Akash Palkhiwala mentioned that Qualcomm has established a robust partnership with the Prime Minister's Office and Tata Group to explore the potential use of Indian manufacturing facilities for their chips.


Palkhiwala highlighted Qualcomm's substantial presence in India, emphasizing its critical role within the company. The dedicated team in India plays an integral part in shaping Qualcomm's entire roadmap, with notable contributions, particularly in the development of this important chip.


Qualcomm recently announced the availability of its redesigned Snapdragon Elite X chip, optimized for handling AI tasks such as email summarization, text generation, and image creation in laptops from the next year. Additionally, Qualcomm claims that its chip will deliver "50% faster peak multi-thread performance" compared to Apple's M2 chip.
