• iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro designs have been revealed via official images.
• Both phones will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset.
• iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro’s alleged specs are leaked through alleged poster images.
iQOO 12 series is set to launch in China in November. The lineup is expected to include two models: the iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro. These will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset. The company has already started teasing the phone on Weibo social media platform. Now, in another post, iQOO officially teased the design of the phones.
Separately, alleged iQOO 12 and iQOO 12 Pro specifications have been leaked via poster images on Weibo. This clues us in on what to expect in terms of specifications.
• Display:iQOO 12 is expected to sport a 6.78-inch 1.5K BOE OLED display with a 144Hz refresh rate, 3000nits peak brightness, 2160Hz PWM dimming and probably a punch-hole cutout.
• The iQOO 12 Pro has the same 6.78-inch display but with a 2K Samsung E7 AMOLED panel, curved edges, a 144Hz refresh rate, a peak brightness of 2700nits, and 1440Hz PWM dimming.
• Processor: The flagships could be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC paired with Adreno GPU.
• RAM/Storage: The iQOO 12 series is tipped to pack 12GB/16GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB/512GB/1TB UFS 4.0 storage.
• OS: Android 14 with Origin OS 4.0 custom skin out of the box.
• Cameras: The vanilla iQOO 12 is rumoured to pack a 50MP OmniVision OV50H primary sensor with OIS support, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide camera and a 64MP OV64B telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
• The iQOO 12 Pro 50MP OmniVision OV50H primary snapper with OIS, a 50MP Samsung JN1 ultrawide lens and a 64MP OV64B periscope telephoto camera which offers 3x optical zoom and up to 100x digital zoom.
• Front camera: There is a 16MP front camera for selfies and video chats.
• Others: The phones might feature an in-display fingerprint sensor, Hi-Res audio, stereo speakers, and possibly an IP rating.
• Battery: The iQOO 12 series is expected to pack a 5,000mAh battery and 120W fast charging support.
• Connectivity: Wi-Fi 7, 5G, Bluetooth 5.4, NFC, dual-frequency GPS, and an IR blaster.
• Others: IP64-rated chassis, IP68-certified body, dual stereo speakers, and a large X-axis linear motor
for haptic feedback.
The iQoo 12 and iQoo 12 Pro are confirmed to go official on November 7. The launch event will be held in China at 7pm local time (4:30pm IST). The new series is confirmed to run on Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 SoC. They are teased to come in Black, Red and White shades.
