Hey 👋 Questers
How are you?
I hope you are healthy and enjoying your time in community!
As you have read the subject already,I am sure that you have got an Idea what is thread about?Yes! it's about the one of the features of smartphones known as RAM Extension.
In the world of smartphones, one feature that has recently gained attention is RAM extension, also known as Virtual RAM, Extended RAM, or Dynamic RAM Expansion. This feature allows a portion of your phone's internal storage to be used as additional RAM.
But is this feature a game-changer or just a marketing gimmick? Let's delve into it.
When you open an application on your phone, it is stored on the physical RAM in the background. The RAM extension feature uses the phone’s internal storage as makeshift RAM, which is known as Virtual RAM. For instance, if a phone has 6GB RAM and 128GB storage and you extend RAM by 5GB, technically, you will now have 11GB of RAM and about 123 GB of internal storage.
While the idea of increasing your phone's RAM sounds appealing, it's important to understand the limitations. Physical RAM is much faster than storage. Therefore, using storage for virtual/extended RAM might not provide the same performance boost as having more physical RAM.
While RAM extension can help in multitasking by keeping more apps in the background, it cannot replace the need for more physical RAM.
That is just my opinion what do you think about it please tell me in comments I am waiting for your answers.
I hope it's a worth read for all. Now we'll meet in next thread.
Keep Questing
