Introduction

Mukesh Ambani-owned company Reliance Jio aims to revolutionize the PC market in India and has started talks with leading manufacturers like HP, Acer and Lenovo to launch cloud laptops soon.

According to a report in ET, the upcoming laptop will be priced around Rs 15,000 and will function as a 'dumb terminal'.

What Is JioBook Cloud?

This means all storage and processing tasks are handled by his Jio cloud.

This approach is expected to significantly reduce the current operating costs amounting to approximately INR 50,000 crore.

Additionally, users can access services faster.

According to sources cited by ET, trials of the proposed HP Chromebook for cloud PCs are currently underway.

Jio plans to offer a monthly subscription for his Cloud PC, the price of which will be decided later.

If you don't want to buy a new device, you can install cloud PC software on any desktop or smart TV to access your computer's features.

"The price of a laptop depends on its hardware, including memory, processing power, and chipset.

The greater the capacity of this hardware, the better both cost and battery performance.

What we are doing is removing all of this and all the processing on the laptop is done on the Jio cloud backend,” a source told the publication.

Jio is making his second entry into the laptop market.

Earlier this year, the company launched his 4G-enabled laptop, JioBook, at INR 16,499.

 JioBook was powered by his JioOS system.

However, the next cloud PCs are expected to run on other operating systems, including Windows.

Last year, Jio launched the JioBook in October and a new version of the laptop on July 31st.
