Armed Forces Flag Day 🇮🇳 : 7 December is celebrated as Armed Forces Flag Day in India. Its objective is the welfare of families of retired and martyred armed forces and military personnel.

Every year in India, 7th December is celebrated as Indian Armed Forces Flag Day. This day is dedicated to the soldiers, martyrs and retired personnel of the Indian Army who protect the country. This day is celebrated for the welfare of Army, Navy and Air Force soldiers and their families. This year is being celebrated continuously since 1949. This day gives an opportunity to the countrymen to provide financial help for the welfare of the families of retired, martyred and injured soldiers and military personnel from the armed forces. He can donate to the Armed Forces Flag Day Fund. On this day, donations are collected from the people by distributing the Armed Forces flag among the people which is used for the welfare of the soldiers.

What is history : 

In fact, in 1949, the Government of India formed a committee for the welfare of Indian Army soldiers. This committee had decided to celebrate Flag Day on 7 December every year. Armed Forces Flag Day was first celebrated on 7 December 1949 in honor of the soldiers who sacrificed their lives to protect the country. Since then the trend of celebrating this day continues.

On the occasion of Armed Forces Flag Day, various programs are organized by the armies in the country. On this occasion, to raise funds, small flags of the armed forces are distributed to the public which have three colors (red, dark blue and light blue). This amount is used for the rehabilitation of families of war disabled and martyrs, and welfare of retired and serving soldiers and their families. The three colors on the flag of the armed forces represent the three armed forces of India.
