Hello Questers !

Now that I had the iQOO 12 for nearly 4 days, it's appropriate for me to share with you my opinions and verdict on this phone.

However, a tiny spoiler:

For the segment, it's an amazing phone that's capable of doing a lot of things extremely well. 😉

Design :

To begin with, I want to comment on how beautiful my iQOO 12 Alpha Edition (Black) unit looks

This phone's frame is made of aluminum alloy, and the back side is composed of Fluorite AG glass.

This phone's back has the iconic vivo/iQOO flagship textured design, which i love the most , camera module is well optimized seeing the big sensor.

Display :

In recent years, high-end smartphones have consistently featured excellent displays. It follows that the iQOO 12's superb display for all content kinds is not surprising.

It becomes incredibly vibrant, sharp, crisp, and dazzling. I would classify it as extraordinary since it is a really great display, especially for the class. This is a 6.78-inch 144 Hz LTPO AMOLED panel with 1.5K  resolution and 10-bit color.

I haven't noticed any frame drops while navigating menus or watching videos because to the excellent refresh rate management of LTPO technology, which can adjust the ideal refresh rate to the content we're viewing. It responds quickly and smoothly.

Camera:

Its flagship-killer camera system is on par with other high-end phones that are currently on the market. It has the one of the greatest camera hardware available.

The camera system of the iQOO 12 includes:

Main camera: 50 MP "Astrography Camera," 1/1.3" OV50H, Aperture F/1.68, Focal length: 23 mm.

Aperture F/2.57, focal length of 70 mm, 3x optical zoom, 1/2" OV64B, 64 MP periscope telephoto camera

16 MP front camera, Aperture F/2.45, 27 mm focal length; 50 MP ultra-wide camera, 1/2.76" ISOCELL JN1, Aperture F/2.0, 15 mm focal length.

Performance

The most recent Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 Mobile Platform powers the iQOO 12. Additionally, it boasts extremely sophisticated LPDDR5X RAM and UFS 4.0 storage (I had the unit of 16-512GB ).

In addition, the iQOO 12 sports a specially designed "Supercomputing Chip Q1" that enhances every aspect of the phone's gaming performance, including touch controls, graphics, frame rate, and image quality.

Software

Funtouch OS 14 is based on Android 14 and runs on iQOO 12. I

To me, there have been two significant changes: smoothness and customization.

A new dedicated control center.

A dedicated page for customizing wallpaper and lockscreens exists.

Additionally, you can alter the AoD style, color scheme, and icons via themes app. also you can alter the lockscreen shortcuts, use a lockscreen poster, and change the font, color, and style of the clock to make your lockscreen uniquely yours. Here, there is a great variety in wallpaper options as well.

I feel OS is significantly improved from previous gens and still lot more improvemen t is needed.

Verdict:

iQOO 12 for me is a surprising one. It turns into a smartphone that not only delivers exceptional performance but also excellent photo quality, an exquisite display, a long battery life, fast charging, high-quality audio, and a stunning new design language that looks and feels amazing. Especially White One 🤍
