In times gone by, during the unforeseen challenges of the COVID-19 era (2019-2020), we learned valuable lessons about hygiene. Among these lessons, one crucial aspect often overlooked was the cleanliness of our trusty companions - our mobile phones.

Phones, often carried everywhere, inadvertently became reservoirs of various germs, including viruses and bacteria. Surfaces like bathroom floors, encounters with airborne droplets, and hand-to-phone transfers created potential breeding grounds for pathogens.

Back then, keeping our phones clean played a pivotal role in curbing the spread of infections.

Here's a throwback reminder of the best practices we embraced:

  1. Power Down: Always turn off your phone before cleaning to prevent accidental operations.
  2. Hand Hygiene: Wash your hands thoroughly before commencing the disinfection process.
  3. Alcohol-Based Cleaning: Utilize alcohol-based products like isopropyl on a microfiber cloth to gently clean the device. Avoid direct application to the screen.
  4. Case Detachment: Remove the phone from its case before cleaning and extend the same care to clean the case too.
  5. Detailed Cleaning: Apply a small amount of cleaning agent to a paper towel or microfiber cloth to thoroughly clean the screen, sides, and back of the phone.

Where you carry your phone matters! Limiting its exposure in certain environments, like avoiding unnecessary use in public transportation or refraining from taking it to the bathroom, significantly contributes to its cleanliness.

Though these reflections are from a time now past, they hold relevance, reminding us of the importance of maintaining phone hygiene in any circumstances.
