iQOO Watch confirmed to run on BlueOS ahead of December 27th launch


iQOO has unveiled new details about its first smartwatch. 

The iQOO watch will run on BlueOS, the same operating system as the Vivo Watch 3.

The iQOO watch is set to release in China on December 27, along with the iQOO Neo 9 series and the iQOO TWS 1e.

iQOO is launching its first-ever smartwatch on December 27th alongside the iQOO Neo 9 smartphone series. The brand has now revealed through a teaser that the iQOO Watch will operate on the BlueOS system, similar to the Vivo Watch 3 launched in November. In addition, more details about the smartwatch have been unveiled. Here’s all we know about the new iQOO Watch. 




iQOO Watch: what we know so far

From the poster, we can infer that the smartwatch will feature a sleek design with rounded edges and an action button.

The teaser also shows the smartwatch’s extensive health suite, and the device is expected to include a heart rate sensor, a blood SPO2 sensor, a calorie counter, and other common smartwatch health sensors.

Since the iQOO Watch will operate on BlueOS, it is expected to have an in-built app store, similar to the one in the Vivo Watch 3, enabling it to download third-party apps.

Not much has been revealed about the specifications of the iQOO Watch.



iQOO Neo 9 series specifications

Alongside the iQOO Watch, the December 27 launch will feature the highly anticipated iQOO Neo 9 series and iQOO TWS 1e. The full spec sheet of the iQOO Neo 9 series has been leaked ahead of the launch (you can check it out here), and they are as follows:

Display: iQOO Neo 9 Pro and Neo 9 will both feature the same 6.78-inch AMOLED display (2800x1260p resolution) with a 144Hz refresh rate. The Neo 9, however, will come with a 120Hz refresh rate. 

Processor: The Pro model is confirmed to be powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 9300 chipset, while the vanilla one gets the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC. 

RAM and storage: Both phones will come in two variants of 12GB LPDDR5X RAM and 256GB UFS 4.0 storage, and 16GB RAM and 512GB storage.

Cameras: The iQOO Neo 9 Pro is said to sport a 50MP primary camera with OIS paired with a 50MP ultra-wide angle lens. For selfies, the smartphone will most likely house a 16MP front camera. The vanilla Neo 9 is getting the same specs except for the ultra-wide, which would be an 8MP sensor.

Battery, charging: It will pack a 5,160mAh battery with 120W fast charging support.

Software: In China, the iQOO Neo 9 Pro will run OriginOS 4 based on Android 14.
