The 81st Annual Golden Globe Awards have now concluded. Even though emcee Joy Koy's opening monologue was dubbed "the bomb," the main event of the evening was Christopher Nolan's Oppenheimer, which won five awards, including Best Director, Best Actor, and Best Drama. To everyone's surprise, Emma Stone won Best Comedy Actress, while Poor Things defeated Barbie for Best Comedy. Despite all the hype surrounding a "Barbienheimer" awards showdown, Barbie only won two medals at the Golden Globes, including the newly established Best Box Office Achievement award.
Succession: The Roy Family became victorious in the television category, winning three accolades, comprising of Best Drama and two Actor awards for Matthew McFayden and Kieran Culkin. Beef won all of the Limited Series Prizes, with Ali Wong becoming the first Asian woman to win in history. Together with co-star Jeremy Allen White, current "It Girl" Ayo Edebiri took home the top accolades in the TV comedy categories, which were also won by The Bear.
