Android custom ROMs are very useful for keeping older devices up to date when the phone manufacturer no longer provides support. Lineage OS is a popular custom ROM installed on many Android devices. Now, with Android 14 available and stable, Lineage OS gets an upgrade with the new Lineage OS 21 update that provides even more features and stuff.

Lineage OS 21 is built on the latest Android 14 QPR 1 and comes with all security patches until February 2024. The platform update is a reason to celebrate and the Lineage OS team has gone the extra mile by making various improvements to its apps. Creating open source replacements or using stock AOSP apps is a tough task for volunteers working on custom ROMs, so their efforts are truly commendable.

A notable feature in this update is the introduction of Glimpse, now the default gallery app in Lineage OS 21. The app is designed to provide a clean, simple and modern user interface, including all the basic features you would expect from them. gallery app.

The Android TV build also continues to feature an ad-free Android TV launcher, unlike Google's ad-supported launcher. Most Google Apps for Android TV bundles now give users a choice between using Google's ad-supported launcher or our ad-restricted version.

The Calculator app has gotten a new look with a user interface update, bringing it in line with the rest of our suite of apps. They've also added several new features, redesigned UI components to have a more modern look, and added support for Material You. Aperture is in its first year. As promised, LineageOS is constantly improving and adding new features to the app while staying in sync with Google's updates to the CameraX library.
