Women's Day Special | The 1st Woman President of India | Pratibha Patil ♀️

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 was born on December 19, 1934 in Jalgaon district of Maharashtra. Pratibha Patil's father's name was Narayan Rao. His father was also a politician. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 did her early education from Jalgaon itself. After this he graduated from Mulji Jaitha College. After graduation, 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 took admission in Government Law College, Mumbai and studied law.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 was very active during her college days. She has been a good table tennis player. Not only this, Pratibha Patil was so beautiful during her college days that she even got the title of 'College Queen'. In the year 1965, 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 got married to Professor Devisingh Ransingh Shekhawat.


𝙋𝙧𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙗𝙝𝙖 𝙋𝙖𝙩𝙞𝙡'𝙨 𝙋𝙤𝙡𝙞𝙩𝙞𝙘𝙖𝙡 𝘾𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙚𝙧

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 was associated with social service since the beginning. Even before entering politics, she was ready to help people in the society. From the very beginning, she was always working to improve the status of women in the society. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 entered politics at the age of 27. She contested the assembly member election from Jalgaon seat in Maharashtra and won. Not only this, Pratibha Patil won the Mukti Nagar Assembly seat four times on Congress ticket.

𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 was Deputy Minister in the Maharashtra Government between 1967-72 and Social Welfare Minister from 1972 to 1974. Along with this, he also took charge of another ministry. Pratibha was also the ninth Deputy Speaker of the Rajya Sabha from November 18, 1986 to November 5, 1988. Along with this, she has been the seventeenth Governor of Rajasthan from November 8, 2004 to June 23, 2007.


𝙃𝙤𝙬 𝙙𝙞𝙙 𝙨𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙚 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙞𝙧𝙨𝙩 𝙬𝙤𝙢𝙖𝙣 𝙋𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙞𝙙𝙚𝙣𝙩 ? 

UPA made 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 its presidential candidate in 2007. In front of him was NDA candidate Bhairo Singh Shekhawat, who was defeated by Pratibha Patil by about 3 lakh votes. After this, 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 assumed the highest constitutional post of India and became the twelfth President of India. His tenure was from July 25, 2007 to July 25, 2012. 


𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙𝙚𝙙 𝙈𝙚𝙭𝙞𝙘𝙤'𝙨 𝙃𝙞𝙜𝙝𝙚𝙨𝙩 𝘾𝙞𝙫𝙞𝙡𝙞𝙖𝙣 𝘼𝙬𝙖𝙧𝙙 🏆

On June 1, 2019, former President of India 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 was awarded the 'Orden Mexicana del Aguila Azteca' (Order of the Aztec Eagle), Mexico's highest civilian award given to foreigners. The award was presented to Patil by Mexican Ambassador Melba Pria at a special ceremony held at MCCIA Bhawan, Pune. 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐛𝐡𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐥 became the second President of India to receive this award.
