As the Best Reviewer of the year 2023, I'm excited to share my hands-on experience with iQOO devices, particularly the iQOO Neo 9 Pro, which I had the opportunity to test out for a day thanks to my brother. Stay tuned as I delve into my firsthand impressions right here in our community thread.

iQOO consistently includes a pleasant surprise in its box contents, providing not only a charger, cable, and back case but also the handset itself, ensuring users have everything they need without any concerns about missing chargers or cables. ("NOTHING" to worry)

The latest camera setup marks a significant leap from the previous square design, while the bezel-less display and innovative dual-color tone concept instantly grab attention. Personally, I find the display most impressive; having experienced the smoothness of the iQOO 12, it's remarkable that both devices feature identical displays. It's fascinating to see flagship display technology integrated into the Neo Pro Series. Additionally, the camera setup, reminiscent of the iQOO 12 with its smaller dual-port hole design, adds a refreshing new look. Great job, iQOO!

Performance and Camera

There's no question about the performance prowess of iQOO, especially with its Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 successor. It effortlessly handles heavy games and ensures smooth operation even with multiple apps running in the background. The inclusion of the Q1 chip in successors like the iQOO 12 positions this device as a sibling to the iQOO 12, offering similar capabilities but with its own distinct characteristics.Playing BGMI at full graphics settings was a delight, thanks to the processor's full utilization. Switching gears to the camera department, the Sony IMX 920 sensor, a stellar 50 MP offering, truly captures images with stunning realism, presenting scenes exactly as they appear.

iQOO presents a solid build with a plastic frame complemented by a rear dual-tone vegan leather finish. Slim and boxy, the design appeals to gamers, offering a secure grip even during intense gaming sessions, even when hands are moist.Moving on to the battery, there's a slight improvement from the iQOO Neo 7 Pro with a 5100mAh battery, ensuring ample power to tackle daily tasks without concern. Additionally, the inclusion of a 120 Watts PD charger in the box means the device charges swiftly, making sure you're back up and running in just a few minutes.

Funtouch OS 14, built on Android 14, offers exceptional smoothness with kinetic wallpapers and silky touch response, enhancing device stability and functionality. Bloatware is disabled, pre-installed apps are minimized, and features like YouTube background play without premium subscription are included. We've received valuable feedback from our users, including requests for FPS and temperature meters, which we hope the brand will consider in future updates.

Overall

The iQOO Neo 9 Pro stands out as a versatile device, excelling in both performance and camera capabilities. Its appeal extends to gamers and mobile photographers alike. For gamers, its impressive features such as the processor, display quality, and dedicated gaming spaces enhance the gaming experience significantly, especially with features like interpolation and Super Resolution technology.

Prons

The iQOO Neo 9 Pro boasts numerous strengths, including the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor with the Q1 chip, a large battery, a 120-watt charger, a Sony IMX 920 display, and stereo speakers. It offers an exceptional multimedia experience, excelling in gaming and camera performance.

The utilization of UFS 4.0 technology gives ONE PLUS an edge in terms of the device's read and write speeds, coupled with its superior design and the addition of an IR blaster.3 years of Software Upgrade and 4 years of Security Updates. The incorporation of a new camera setup further enhances the device's power-packed performance.

Cons

In my comparison between the iQOO Neo 9 Pro and the Neo 7 Pro, I noticed a slight heating issue with the Neo 9 Pro after charging both devices to 100% and using 5G in a sun-exposed area. Additionally, I found that the 5G connectivity on the Neo 9 Pro fluctuated more compared to the stable connection on the Neo 7 Pro, resulting in slightly higher battery drainage during activities like gaming and internet browsing. Despite these drawbacks, the Neo 9 Pro's camera performance is superior to that of the Neo 7 Pro, although the focusing capability could be improved. These issues seem minor and could potentially be addressed through software updates. However, I also noted that the build quality could be enhanced to prevent slips for users with slippery hands.

Conclusion

I may be running a bit behind with the review, but I wanted to share a long-term usage review of this device. My brother purchased it on launch day, and I've been waiting to share our experiences over an extended period. I hope this insight proves helpful for those considering grabbing it during the upcoming 4th-year anniversary sale. I've personally written and captured all the content myself, with no third-party involvement. Please let me know in the comments if you'd like me to continue writing long-term usage reviews.
