Sunil Narine showcased a spectacular display of power-hitting, smashing an electrifying 85 runs, while young Angkrish Raghuvanshi marked his IPL batting debut with a fifty as Kolkata Knight Riders  (KKR) posted a formidable total of 272/7 against Delhi Capitals  (DC) in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday.

This staggering score became the second-highest in the history of the cash-rich league, surpassing RCB's 263/5 against the now-defunct Pune Warriors India (PWI) back in 2013.

The record for the highest innings score of 277/3 remains with Sunrisers Hyderabad  achieved against Mumbai Indians just last week.

Narine explosive performance saw him punish every Delhi bowler, smashing the ball over the boundary seven times in his 39-ball innings, accompanied by seven fours. Despite being dropped on 53, Narine capitalized on the opportunity, achieving his highest-ever T20 score.

Raghuvanshi, who missed out on batting in his debut IPL match against Royal Challengers Bangalore, displayed his skills with a rapid 54 off 27 balls, forming a blazing 104-run partnership with Narine off just 48 balls.

Andre Russell contributed a quickfire 41 off 19 balls, while Rinku Singh added a late flourish with 26 off 8 balls, boosting KKR total.

The Delhi bowlers endured a forgettable outing, conceding their team's highest-ever total. KKR hit 18 sixes and 28 fours.

Narine began his boundary spree by dispatching a short ball from Khaleel Ahmed to deep point. He targeted veteran pacer Ishant Sharma, plundering 26 runs in the fourth over, including three sixes and two fours, setting the tone for the innings.

KKR mammoth total also secured a place in the top-5 of highest team totals in Twenty20 cricket history.
