Attention, Valorant agents! The latest patch notes for Valorant Episode 8 Act 3 have just dropped, and they bring some massive changes, particularly targeting two agents who've been dominating the battlefield: Viper and Cypher.

Since their buffs in previous patches, both Cypher and Viper have become thorns in the side of many players, with their abilities proving to be overly strong and frustrating to deal with. But fear not, as Riot Games has heard our pleas and delivered some significant adjustments to bring these agents more in line with the rest.

🔻 Cypher Nerfs: Cypher's Tripwire has been a constant headache for attackers, but in Patch 8.08, it's getting a significant overhaul. The re-arm time for Trapwire has been increased from 1s to 2s, giving enemies more time to react and shoot it before it activates. Additionally, the slow duration on Trapwire has been reduced from 2s to 1.25s, making it less punishing for those caught in its grasp. Plus, a new audio cue has been added to the Spycam, making it easier for players to detect when they're under surveillance.

🔻 Viper Nerfs: Viper's dominance on the battlefield is also being challenged in this patch. Changes to her toxin fuel mechanics aim to make her commit more to her positions and reduce the uptime of her smokes. The max uptime on each individual smoke source has been reduced, while the minimum fuel needed to activate smoke has been increased. Additionally, the cooldown on re-activating smokes has been decreased, adding a layer of strategic timing to her abilities. Furthermore, the price of Snake Bite has increased, and its charges have been reduced, making it less spammable.

🏆 Premier Mode Updates: In addition to agent changes, Premier mode is also receiving some exciting updates. Premier Playoff teams will now earn promotions with each win, allowing them to play in higher divisions in subsequent stages. A new Invite division will be introduced in Episode 9 Act 1, offering new opportunities for aspiring pros. Plus, adjustments to the Premier Score playoff qualification threshold aim to make the competitive journey more rewarding for all players.

🐛 Bug Fixes: Of course, no patch would be complete without bug fixes, and Patch 8.08 delivers. From addressing map exploits to resolving agent ability issues, Riot Games is committed to ensuring a smooth and fair gameplay experience for all.

Gear up, agents, and get ready to adapt to these changes as you continue to climb the ranks in Valorant Episode 8 Act 3! Let's see how these adjustments shake up the meta and pave the way for new strategies on the battlefield. See you in the game! 🎮🔥
