Good News: Phase 1 on the Horizon

Commuters in Mumbai can rejoice! The first phase of the Aqua Line, stretching from Aarey Colony to Bandra Kurla Complex (BKC), is expected to be operational by May 2024. A Look Back: Reasons for Delay

The Aqua Line's completion timeline has seen setbacks. Originally targeted for June 2021, the project faced delays due to construction challenges and protests regarding the felling of trees for the maintenance depot.

Current Progress: Tunneling Complete

Despite the initial delays, significant progress has been made. As of December 2022, tunneling work for the entire route is 100% complete. This is a major milestone, paving the way for station construction and other finishing touches.

Overall, the Aqua Line project is in its final stages. With Phase 1 opening soon and Phase 2 following shortly after, Mumbai's commuters can look forward to a more connected and efficient transportation system.
