WhatsApp, the popular instant messaging app, is known for its constant evolution and updates. In its latest move, the platform is reportedly testing a revamped voice call interface aimed at enhancing user experience.

The current voice call screen interface has remained largely unchanged for almost a decade since its introduction. However, according to a recent report by WABetaInfo, WhatsApp developers are now experimenting with a new design that could streamline the calling experience for millions of users worldwide.

The key change in the redesigned interface involves relocating the mute and end call buttons from the bottom of the screen to the top bar. This adjustment aims to make it more convenient for users to access these essential functions without navigating away from the call screen.

In the proposed layout, the mute button will be positioned at the top left corner of the screen, while the end call button will be located at the top right corner. These buttons will only be visible when the call screen is minimized, alongside the call duration indicator.

Compared to the current setup where users have to return to the call screen to perform actions such as muting or ending a call, the updated design promises a more seamless and intuitive user experience. By placing these controls in a prominent position at the top of the screen, users can easily manage their calls with minimal disruption.

It's important to note that this redesign is currently being tested and is not yet widely available. Even if users manually install the latest WhatsApp beta version, they may not immediately see the new interface. However, if the testing phase is successful, it's likely that the redesigned voice call UI will be rolled out to all users in a future update.

In recent weeks, WhatsApp has introduced several new features aimed at enhancing communication and usability. These include the ability to pin up to three messages in chats, share screen and audio during video calls on iPhone, and a chat filter functionality to simplify the process of finding old messages.

As WhatsApp continues to evolve its platform, users can expect more updates and improvements aimed at making their messaging and calling experience more efficient and enjoyable. Stay tuned for further developments as the platform undergoes testing and refinement to bring the best possible features to its global user base.
