I have been using Hauwei P30 Pro as my main device for almost 5 years, so it was time for change. Inbetween these period I have tried many devices that are flagship to budget phones. Nothing gave the satisfaction. The main reason was the periscope zoom lens. I understood that I cannot live without 5x to 10x zoom range on my phones. Also the price was a factor I got my P30 pro for 50k from UAE through my friend. I have used iQOO 9 before but was not very impresssed with cameras. Since I was not a gamer that device was a wrong choice for me. But in December iQOO introduce their latest flagship iQOO 12. Impressive specs along with a persicope saw few reviews and the banger price I brought it right away. Straight up saying this, it was the perfect device for me considering the budget.

I love the design, the unboxing was great with having the 120W charger and cable inside. The corners cuts like no wirless charging were not a big deal for me. But wish it had USB 3.1 instead of 2.0 but it hasnt affected as much as I thought.

144 Hz LTPO AMOLED Display is great whther it is indoor or outdoor. Watching videos is a great experience.  Funtouch OS is very smooth, I am very impressed with it. Just to be clear I am not some heavy user, but day to day tasks is incredibly fast. I havent faced any bugs so that way too it is great. Indisplay fingerprint scanner also works really great.

Having Snapdragon Gen 3 chipset the top of the line flagship means it would be running really well for a longer time period considering I dont game at all. Battery backup has been really great considering how much I used these cameras especially videos at 4K. Super Quick charging is just a added bonus. IP68 rating also is a boon when you want to take some quick clicks during rains.

So let's come to my favorite feature, the rear cameras. iQOO12 has very capable rear cameras. A true periscope camera for zoom which can do macros too instead of normal low 8MP camers or normal telephoto lens. All 3 high MP camera means all can do pixel binning to provide good output in any lighting conditions. Truthfully you actually get a lot of flexiibility from 0.6x to 10x. Also having Vivo V2 chip for processing is huge bonus, I saw the huge performance jump from iQOO9 to this.  I have few criterias for the cameras other than having periscope lens. I want 4K recording in all lenses. Lens switching during recording was important. Can use external mics. Also light painting modes in all lenses like my Huawei. So it fails in only two things light painting is limited to Main Cameras and no front 4K recrding(considering vivo gave 4K recording to their vivo X100, iQOO shld consider giving 4K recording with EIS for this one, this is a request)

This phone shines in every lighting. It has very good HDR, nightmode. Shutter speed could be little faster though. Portrait mode is great. I have been shooting my youtube videos with it so no complaints there too. I will share few samples here.
