Hey Questers! Wassup? It's been a while since I started using the iQOO Z9, and to be honest, I'm quite impressed with its performance. So, I decided to make a performance review. The iQOO Z9 aims to make a significant impact in the sub-Rs 20,000 segment by focusing on performance. But does it truly deliver? Having used this device for the past few weeks, let's delve into the details and evaluate how the Z9 handles everyday tasks, gaming, and more.

Under the Hood

The iQOO Z9 it packs a punch under the hood, especially considering the Indian market. Here's a closer look at the key components:

Processor:

  • MediaTek Dimensity 7200: This 4nm octa-core processor is known for its balance between performance and power efficiency. It features:
  • Two high-performance Arm Cortex-A715 cores clocked at up to 2.8GHz for demanding tasks.
  • Six energy-efficient Arm Cortex-A510 cores for handling background processes and saving battery.

RAM:

  • 8GB LPDDR4X RAM: This provides enough memory for smooth multitasking with most apps. However, heavy users who juggle many apps simultaneously might find it a bit limiting.

Storage:

  • 256GB UFS 2.2 Storage: This offers ample space for apps, games, photos, and videos. While UFS 3.1 offers faster data transfer speeds, UFS 2.2 is still sufficient for most users and keeps the price competitive.

Cooling System:

  • Liquid Cooling System: The Z9 utilizes a liquid cooling system to dissipate heat during intense tasks like gaming. This helps maintain performance and prevent overheating.

Benchmark Revisit

While benchmark scores provide a general indication of processing power, they don't always translate directly to everyday usage. Here's how the iQOO Z9 hardware translates to real-world performance for Indian users

Real-World Performance

Daily usage is a breeze on the Z9. Apps launch quickly, multitasking is fluid, and navigating the UI feels responsive. I ran several apps simultaneously (WhatsApp, Instagram, YouTube) without encountering any lag.

Gaming

For gamers, the Z9 is a capable companion. Demanding titles like Call of Duty Mobile run smoothly on medium to Very High graphics settings.

Genshin Impact is playable as well, but expect some frame drops on higher settings. The phone maintains a comfortable temperature during extended gaming sessions.

Battery Life

The 5000mAh battery delivers solid endurance. With moderate use, you can easily get a full day's worth of charge. Power users might need to top up in the evening, but the 44W fast charging ensures a quick turnaround.

Software Performance

The Z9 runs on Funtouch OS based on Android. While feature-rich, it comes with some pre-installed bloatware that can be uninstalled.

Verdict: Fully Loaded

The iQOO Z9 prioritizes good everyday performance, capable gaming at mid-range settings, and long battery life, all crucial factors for the Indian market. The single RAM option might limit multitasking for heavy users, but the price point makes it a compelling option.

Overall, if you're looking for a phone that delivers smooth daily usage, can handle popular Indian games, and offers long battery life at a competitive price, the iQOO Z9 is a strong contender.

Have a great day, and I look forward to seeing you again soon.

Best regards,
