Hey Questers, ♥️

Google will be rolling out new update to find your device without internet. Yes you heard it right.

Google's Find My Device Network is a new feature for Android devices that utilizes Bluetooth to help locate missing devices even when they are offline. This expands the functionality of the existing Find My Device app, which previously relied on an internet connection to track devices.

Here's how it works:

1. Participating Android devices (typically running Android 9 or later) will constantly scan for other devices in the network using Bluetooth.

2.If a device is detected as offline (powered off or disconnected from cellular/Wi-Fi), its location will be securely reported to the Find My Device network.

3.This reported location is encrypted using the user's PIN, pattern, or password and only accessible to the authorized user and those they share location with through the Find My Device app. Importantly, Google cannot view this information.

This network essentially creates a crowdsourced system where Android devices help each other out. If your device goes missing, other devices in the network can detect it and anonymously report its location, increasing the chances of finding it.

Here are some key points to remember about the Find My Device Network:

1. Privacy Focused: End-to-end encryption and aggregated location reporting ensure user privacy and prevent unwanted tracking.

2. Enhanced Tracking:Locates offline devices compared to the prior Find My Device which required an internet connection.

3. Widespread Functionality: Works with most Android devices running Android 9 or later.

The Find My Device Network is a recent launch (May 2024) and is gradually being rolled out to users globally. You can check your settings or [search Google Find My Device network] for updates.

This feature, launched in May 2024, utilizes the power of Android devices to create a collaborative network for locating missing devices, even when they're offline (powered off or no internet connection).

Here's the magic behind it:

1. Android devices (usually running Android 9 or later) participating in the network continuously scan for each other via Bluetooth.

2. When an offline device is detected, its location is securely reported to the Find My Device network.

3. This location is encrypted with the user's PIN, password, or pattern, ensuring only authorized users (including those they share location with through the app) can access it. Importantly, Google cannot view this information.
