I hope you're all doing well! Recently, I bought the iQOO Z9x, the Fulldayfullyloaded, and gifted it to my mom. After using it for three days, I'm ready to share my review.
As the Best Reviewer of the Year in the iQOO Connect community, I want to clarify that I purchased this device myself, and it's not sponsored by anyone.
You all probably know the device's specifications, but for those who don't, I'll share a brief overview.
-Snapdragon® 6 Gen 1 Mobile Platform
-6000mAh Ultra Slim Battery
-44W FlashCharge
-6.72" Ultra Bright 120Hz Adaptive display
-Dual Stereo Speakers
-IP64 Dust and Water Resistant
-50MP AI Camera
I have the top variant with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage in Tornado Green. The design looks premium, and despite being plastic, it feels great in hand. It's definitely an eye-catcher. Kudos to the design team! The side-mounted fingerprint sensor is a bit of a letdown, but it's acceptable in this segment. It also features dual stereo speakers with a 300% volume boost, a 3.5mm audio jack, and a Type-C port. The design is truly captivating, and it's also IP64 dust and water resistant.
As you know, I'm already using the iQOO Neo 7 Pro. This new smartphone features a larger 6.72-inch LCD display with a 120Hz refresh rate, eliminating any worries about green lines. With a brightness of 1000 nits, it's safe for prolonged use, and I truly love the display.
It boasts a powerful 4nm Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 processor, ensuring smooth operations without any lag. Snapdragon processors are also known for excellent network performance, and this one delivers with an Antutu score of over 560k. The main reason I chose this device over the iQOO Z9 Lite is because of the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1.
The second main reason for choosing this device is its larger battery—an impressive 6000mAh, making it the biggest and slimmest in its segment. It lasts a solid 12 hours on a full charge, even with 5G, mild gaming, and binge-watching. The battery optimization is excellent, and it has premium features like displaying battery health and offering various battery management options. I charged the device on Tuesday morning, and it's now Friday, with still 40% remaining. With 44 watts flash charging that too in box.
It features a 50 MP AI camera, which is impressive for its segment. The portrait mode is great, and it supports 4K video recording, which is decent. However, the camera still needs improvements in color correction and stability. I hope iQOO is already working on these enhancements.
Some camera samples
As you know, it runs on Funtouch OS 14 and comes with 2 years of software updates and 3 years of security updates. It had some bloatware, but I removed most of it. It includes Jovi and the V Store app. It's a clean OS, ideal for smartphone beginners. Additionally, it features the latest version of Gamespace, version 5.07.
The iQOO Z9x is truly a "Fullday Fullyloaded" smartphone, perfect for those who value performance and long battery life. It's a great 5G device with a decent camera quality, making it ideal for parents who use smartphones primarily for calls and watching videos on a bigger screen with stereo speakers. While it's not suited for professional gaming, it's decent for casual gaming. It's not a top choice for photography but can be a good starting point. Overall, the Z9x is a winner in its segment.
1. Exceptional battery health with extensive optimization features.
2. Excellent selfie camera.
3. High-quality sound with a 300 boost option.
4. Impressive screen brightness.
5. 4K video recording at 30 fps with excellent stabilization (available only in the 8 GB RAM variant).
I hope this review provides a genuine overview of the device. If I've missed anything, please let me know in the comments.
Until then,
signing off.
