WhatsApp Tests New Double-Tap Reaction Feature with Heart Emoji

Hello Questers

WhatsApp is set to introduce a new feature that will allow users to react to messages by double-tapping, which will add a heart emoji.

This new functionality, aimed at simplifying the process of reacting to messages, is currently available in the latest Android beta version.

Unlike the current method where users have to long-press a message to choose a heart emoji, the double-tap feature provides a quicker way to express approval or affection. However, for other emojis like the thumbs up, users will still need to use the traditional long-press method.

According to WABetaInfo, this feature is now accessible to users on WhatsApp for Android version 2.24.16.7 beta, and it is anticipated to reach the stable version in the near future. One potential drawback is that there is no option to disable this feature, which could lead to accidental reactions to older messages when users scroll through their chat history.

In addition to this update, WhatsApp has been busy testing other new features. These include a button for resharing status updates and a Nearby Share-like tool that allows users to share files without an internet connection. Despite these developments, there is no confirmed timeline for when the double-tap reaction feature will be available to all users.

Thanks!
