In our solar system, there are eight recognized planets. They are, in order from the Sun: Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus, and Neptune.

The Sun is a star at the center of our solar system. It is a nearly perfect sphere of hot plasma and is the most massive object in the solar system, accounting for about 99.86% of the total mass. The Sun's core is incredibly hot, reaching temperatures of around 15 million degrees Celsius (27 million degrees Fahrenheit), where nuclear fusion occurs, producing the energy that powers the Sun and provides light and heat to Earth. Its outer layers include the photosphere, chromosphere, and corona. The Sun's gravitational pull keeps the planets and other objects in orbit around it.
