Aadhaar card is now most important for everything, be it identity card or proof of address. Aadhaar card is mandatory to get any government services from money transactions in banks. The government has ordered that Aadhaar number should be attached to everything, be it mobile number, ration card or PAN card. For Indians, Aadhaar is not just an identity card but also a proof of citizenship. Aadhaar is one of the most important documents for identity verification. The 12-digit Aadhaar number is different for each individual. So it is very important to know if someone is doing fraud with your Aadhaar number and information. Sometimes there are allegations of Aadhaar fraud. If there is any such evidence, you can also be exposed to legal complications. So it is important to be careful in advance.


Suppose, you have bought a mobile SIM with Aadhaar number. This time some unscrupulous person started abusing it with another SIM with that number. So how do you know if your Aadhaar number is being misused?


Learn how to verify : step by step


First, go to the website of the Aadhaar regulator 'UIDAI' (uidai.gov.in) and click on the 'Aadhaar History' option.


You will be asked to enter the Aadhaar number. Type 12 digit number.

The security code will appear on the screen.

Enter it and click on 'Generate OTP' option.


After that an OTP will come to verify the mobile number linked with Aadhaar. Enter that OTP number.


As soon as the OTP is verified, a list will appear on the screen. It will show when and where your Aadhaar number has been used in the last 6 months.


Check the list carefully. If in doubt then you can file a complaint immediately.



What to do to file a complaint ?


You can call the toll free number 1947, or go to 'File-Complaint' on the official website of the Aadhaar regulator.
