Hope everyone's doing well! Today, I stumbled upon a thread on the Android Developers Blog about the release of the Android Open Source Project. Guess what? iQOO is at the top of the list! Exciting, right? Let’s dive in.
Android 15 has been officially released to the Android Open Source Project (AOSP). While it’s immediately available to developers, the update will roll out to supported Pixel devices in the coming weeks, and to select devices from brands like Samsung, "iQOO", OnePlus, vivo, Xiaomi, and others over the next few months.
- Privacy & Security:
Android 15 introduces features like Private Space, where users can store sensitive apps with an added layer of security, and support for passkeys, making sign-ins more secure and seamless. There’s also enhanced protection against background activity launches and task hijacking attacks.
- Improved User Experience:
Android 15 brings enhanced multi-tasking for large screens, allowing users to save and quickly access their favorite split-screen app combinations. Apps will now display edge-to-edge by default, creating a more immersive experience, especially on foldable devices. Additionally, the OS now supports Braille displays, improving accessibility.
- Developer Enhancements:
Android 15 includes new APIs that give developers deeper insights into app performance, such as startup times and storage usage. Developers can also expect better typography support, advanced Canvas drawing capabilities, and new tools for handling PDF files. These features are designed to help developers create more polished and efficient apps.
- Camera & Media Improvements:
For users, Android 15 enhances camera performance with features like Low Light Boost, advanced flash strength adjustments, and better HDR handling. Media experiences are also upgraded with intelligent audio adjustments and extended support for Universal MIDI Packets.
To help developers transition smoothly, Google has launched an educational series called Spotlight Weeks, where they’ll cover the latest features in Android 15. Additionally, the Android SDK Upgrade Assistant in Android Studio has been updated to support the new platform, making it easier for developers to ensure their apps are compatible.
Stay tuned, as Android 15 will soon be available on iQOO devices, bringing these exciting updates to your fingertips!
