This day is also known as Mawlid and Nabid. This day falls every year during Rabi Ul Awal.


Eid-e-Milad Significance

Eid-e-Milad holds a great religious significance among Muslim community people. This day is celebrated by all Muslims across the globe with great enthusiasm and joy. Eid Milad Un Nabi is observed on the 12th day of Rabi Ul Awwal which is the third month of the Islamic Calendar. This day marks the birth anniversary of Prophet Mohammad.


This day is considered to be one of the most auspicious day for them as this day reminds the kindness, compassion and teachings of Holy Prophet. This festival is celebrated on different dates by Shia and Sunni Muslims. Sunni Muslims celebrate this day on 12th day of Islamic while Shia Muslims celebrate this day on 17th day of Rabi Ul Awwal. They pay show their love with great respect to their last prophet.


How to celebrate Eid Milad Un Nabi 2023 ?

People start preparation one day before the festival.

They decorate the area, streets, mosques and markets with beautiful and colourful lights and green colour flags. They celebrate this day with great pomp and show, they ties the green bands on their hand as green colour signifies the Islam.

Wearing new clothes, distributing sweets and visiting mosque are one of the main ritual on this very day. Muslim people offer special prayers and seek blessings of Allah. Women prepare different types of delicacies like Sheer Khurma and Sevaiyan.

They invite their relatives at home and celebrate this day with them. Some people visit these prominent and religious places such as Haji Ali Dargah, Jama Mazjid, Nizamuddin Aulia, Ajmer Sharif to worship Allah and seek blessings.

Charity and donations also considered highly rewarding on this sacred day. Prophet Mohammad believed in kindness and humanity and people who are are truly devoted to Allah, make donations and do charity for the needy and poor people.

Meet and greet with Relatives 😀 ❤️ 

Young children celebrate this with great enthusiasm and ask for Eidi from their elders. They meet their cousins and friends and make this day memorable. Elders always tell their children about Prophet Mohammad and his teachings about humanity and compassion. This is how they happily celebrate this day..!!
