What is Cobra kai 🤔 ?

Cobra Kai is an American martial arts comedy-drama television series and a sequel to the original The Karate Kid films created by Robert Mark Kamen.  The series was created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz, and Hayden Schlossberg, and is distributed by Sony Pictures Television. The series was released on YouTube Red / YouTube Premium for the first two seasons, before moving to Netflix starting with the third. The series stars Ralph Macchio and William Zabka, who reprise their roles as Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence, respectively, from the 1984 film The Karate Kid and its sequels, The Karate Kid Part II (1986) and The Karate Kid Part III (1989).

Story of Season 1 : The first season of Cobra Kai was released on YouTube Red on May 2, 2018 and consisted of 10 episodes. The series is a direct sequel to the original four films in The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence over 30 years after the original film. The season follows Johnny Lawerence thirty three years after his loss to Daniel LaRusso, as he reopens the Cobra Kai dojo and reignites his rivalry with Daniel. The season also follows the lives of Johnny's star student Miguel Diaz as well as his son Robby.

There were six starring roles throughout the season which also featured guest actors returning to the franchise portraying characters from the films. The season received universal acclaim for the performances (particularly those of Macchio, Zabka, and Maridueña), action sequences, and faithfulness to the original films.

My Review On COBRA KAI Season 1

I m impressed. Perfect blend of nostalgia with the new world we live in and reconciles both worlds while having something in stories we often don't see anymore...lessons, morals, etc. In a divided country where we can be pretty cynical...it's nice to see something like this. It's a positive show. The best stories have conflict leading to an apex but this show has multiple layers of conflict leading to multiple revelations and growth within the characters. Lessons include letting go of the past, growing, reconciliation, mercy, understanding the responsibility when one gets power or not letting power corrupt you, etc. There's dynamics between family members (husband with wife, parents with children), friends, boyfriends/girlfriends, teacher/student, young/old, "crude non-PC"/PC more sensitive & culturally aware, etc. Instead of having a traditional story line of simple "good versus evil", the main characters are presented as...real...grey. No one is perfect but everyone can find redemption. Something a kid raised in the 80s or one born in the 2000s can both watch. It also includes female characters as being just one of the crew and can participate in martial arts which is excellent. The boys and girls are presented as both having parity. The pop culture Easter eggs throughout the show and flashbacks are great, and it was super cool they paid homage to Mr. Miyagi.

The second season of Cobra Kai, stylized as COBRA KAII, was released on YouTube Premium on April 24, 2019, and consisted of 10 episodes. The series is a direct sequel to the original four films in The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence over 30 years after the original film. This is the final season to be originally released on YouTube's streaming service as Netflix would acquire the streaming rights to Cobra Kai following YouTube's decision not to renew the series past a third season.

Picking up immediately where the previous season left off, the season follows Johnny after his victory at the All-Valley as his success with Cobra Kai is juxtaposed against two new threats: a new karate dojo started by Daniel known as Miyagi-Do, as well as the return of Cobra Kai founder John Kreese.

The season had nine starring roles, six of which returned from the first season and the other three consisting of previously recurring and guest cast members, Jacob Bertrand, Gianni DeCenzo, and Martin Kove, all of whom received promotions. Leo Birenberg and Zach Robinson composed a soundtrack album to accompany the season. The season received generally positive reviews from critics, although they deemed it to be inferior to the first season. The season also received multiple awards and nominations including an Emmy award, and achieved record setting viewing figures.

MY REVIEW ON Cobra kai Season 2 

I am awestruck at how well written and thorough this series has become. Also those fans of continuity and character progression will be quite appeased at the marvelous production value. The writers have taken one dimensional characters from the initial movies, albeit the first being the only one worthy of laud or mention, and made them into these unique, multifaceted and profoundly substantial figures that modern day viewers and fans can empathise with and appreciate universally; kudos to the writers and screen writers on this seemingly daunting task! Also, I would like to convey without any hesitation that the fluid blend of new characters that are introduced and the in-depth journey introspective into the existing ones have successfully revived this beloved 80s cinephiles trove and teenie boppers’ oh so dreamy icon of a film. This true essence of 80s teenage love angst and bully versus nerd dynamic is framed perfectly, and taken to the next level. The thirst for more is quenched much to fans’ content. My heart is happy, warm and all gooey inside. Revivals should take note of this series and use it as a blueprint for further work in the future. The framework it uses is noteworthy, and shouldn’t be disregarded. “The 80s were the best era ever”.

Cobra kai season 3 Story: The third season of Cobra Kai, stylized as COBRA KAIII, was released on Netflix on January 1, 2021, and consisted of 10 episodes. The series is a direct sequel to the original four films in The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence over 30 years after the original film. This is the first season to be released on Netflix after YouTube decided to sell the series following the first two seasons. YouTube ordered the season in 2019 and initially set a 2020 release date which was delayed after Netflix's acquisition.

The season is set in the aftermath of the school brawl, which has left Miguel paralyzed, Robby a wanted criminal, Cobra Kai under Kreese's thumb and Miyagi-Do shut down. As the students of Cobra Kai grow increasingly ruthless, many individuals must overcome their traumas and rivalries once and for all.

There were nine starring roles throughout the season which also featured guest actors returning to the franchise portraying characters from the first and second films. A soundtrack featuring music from the season was also released in January 2021. The season was met with positive reviews from critics. The season also received numerous award nominations including an Emmy nomination for Outstanding Comedy Series. It is considered an international success ranking on Netflix's top ten list in 85 countries and reaching 45 million viewers within the first four months of its release.

MY REVIEW ON COBRA KAI Season 3

So damningly great, it knows it's cheesy and plays with its fondue consistency, from clips from the old films Easter eggs galore and even the 80's soundtrack it sticks to the formula that made this series such a hit in the first place.

The fourth season of Cobra Kai, also known as Cobra Kai IV, released on Netflix on December 31, 2021, and consisted of 10 episodes. The series is a direct sequel to the original four films in The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence over 30 years after the original film. It is the second season to be released in 2021 and second to initially release on Netflix after the first two seasons released on YouTube. The season was also released on DVD on September 13, 2022, a few days after the premiere of the show's fifth season.

The season witnesses Johnny and Daniel, as well as their students, put aside their differences in order to defeat Cobra Kai at the All-Valley Tournament, with the losing dojo being forced to disband. In order to combat the new threat, Kreese invites his old friend Terry Silver in order to take down Johnny and Daniel, but inadvertently unleashes a greater threat.

The season has twelve starring roles, nine of which returned from the previous season, an additional two were added to main cast after recurring throughout previous seasons, and one was added as a newcomer to the series reprising his role from the film series. The season also featured guest appearances from other characters in the film series, re-introducing two recurring characters after a season-long absence, and featuring a cameo appearance from Carrie Underwood. The fourth season was filmed in early 2021. Two soundtrack albums feature accompanying music from the season and were released on January 7, 2022. The season received mostly positive reviews from critics and also topped Netflix's global viewership charts within three days of its release.

MY REVIEW ON Cobra Kai Season 4

It's a charming, easy binge with fun fights. The fourth season of Cobra Kai is the most balanced story we have seen so far from The Karate Kid spin-off. But, it also represents the last stunt the series has up its sleeve.

The fifth season of Cobra Kai, also known as Cobra Kai V, was released to Netflix on September 9, 2022, and consisted of 10 episodes. The series is a direct sequel to the original four films in The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence over 30 years after the original film. This is the third season to be released to Netflix.

After his success at the All-Valley, Terry Silver, now sole owner of Cobra Kai, seeks to expand the dojo across the valley. Thus, Daniel and a new ally Chozen Toguchi attempt to finally defeat him. Meanwhile, Johnny attempts to repair the rivalry between Robby and Miguel.

The season has twelve starring roles, eleven of which returned from the previous season. Dallas Dupree Young was promoted to main cast after recurring in the previous season, and Gianni DeCenzo was demoted to a recurring cast member, being credited as a "special guest star". The season was met with generally positive reviews from critics.

MY REVIEW ON Cobra kai Season 5 

Cobra Kai Season 5 is more of the same for this franchise (but with some extra Evil), and that never gets old. Fresh score. As always, Cobra Kai includes well-choreographed and inventive fight sequences, providing just the right balance of silly fun and serious drama, for the most part. Fresh score.

Cobra kai season 6 Part One Story :The sixth and final season of Cobra Kai, also known as Cobra Kai VI, consists of 15 episodes and is releasing on Netflix. Unlike previous seasons, the sixth season will be released in three parts of five episodes each. The first of these was released on July 18, 2024. A second part is set to release on November 15, followed by the final part in 2025. The series is a direct sequel to the original four films in The Karate Kid franchise, focusing on the characters of Daniel LaRusso and Johnny Lawrence over 30 years after the titular film.[1] The season was originally set to release in 2023, but experienced delays as a result of the 2023 Hollywood labor disputes. The second part however, got an early release date after originally receiving a November 28 release window. The season features 12 starring roles, all of which returned from previous seasons, including Gianni DeCenzo who was a series regular in seasons 2–4, but was demoted to a recurring cast member in the previous season.
