Fans can choose between new, wild hair, or classic hooded forms with glyphs.
set of Ascendance forms for Shamans, along with glyphs that allow them to choose the originals or the first new models when using the abilities. These new forms and glyphs will be added to World of Warcraft in Patch 11.0.5, currently expected to arrive in late October.
During the announcement for Patch 11.0.5, World of Warcraft revealed new Elemental Ascendant forms for Shamans. These models were set to replace the 12-year-old Ascendance transformation forms used by talents in each of the three Shaman specializations. However, though the models were of a higher quality than the originals, many players did not like the different art direction the forms used – especially because of the wild hair they had.
Now, World of Warcraft has revealed a second batch of updated Ascendance models for Shamans. These new forms are similar to the first set, but with a handful of significant changes: the wild hair has been trimmed and contained, the skeletal face has been changed to be more elemental, and its armor now sports a helm and pauldrons evocative of the Shaman's Ten Storms Tier 2 set fans can get during WoW’s 20th anniversary event. Wowhead discovered and shared these new models ahead of their arrival on the next build of the Patch 11.0.5 Public Test Realm.

While these new models will be used by default, World of Warcraft is adding glyphs to let players customize their forms in the same patch. The Glyph of Energetic Ascendance will allow fans to use the first new models with the wild hair, while the Glyph of Traditional Ascendance will let them use the classic hooded Ascendance forms.
Needless to say, Shaman players are overjoyed to see these options coming to the game. Reception to the newest forms has been significantly more positive than the previous iteration, but the addition of glyphs to let fans choose between all three options is a huge win for everyone. Many players are hopeful these options are the first of many, and that Shamans will eventually get a customization overhaul like Druids did in WoW: Dragonflight Patch 10.2.
These new Ascendance forms and glyphs will be available for testing on the PTR soon, but will go live in Patch 11.0.5. While the content update hasn’t been given an official launch date yet, the PTR has World of Warcraft’s 20th anniversary event beginning on October 22, so the patch itself will probably arrive on the same day.
