Android 15 is officially here. Smartphone brand iQOO has announced that its flagship, iQOO 12, will soon started receiving the Funtouch OS 15 update, based on Android 15.
In a press release, iQOO said Funtouch OS 15 is aimed at enhancing the device's overall performance.
Funtouch OS 15 allows users to customise their devices with over 3,800 design elements, including system colours, fonts, icons, and wallpapers. New features include customisable app icon styles and adjustable icon shapes and sizes.
Funtouch OS 15 includes a new scheduling algorithm, ' Priority Scheduling,’ designed to improve app opening speed by 15% under heavy usage.
This feature utilises an optimised zRAM compression algorithm, resulting in a purported 40% increase in compression speed and reduced GPU memory consumption for background applications.
This is intended to improve animation smoothness and responsiveness.
LSE aims to enhance app opening speed by 20%.
This feature adds animated effects to system interactions. Over 700 touch scenarios have been optimised for improved user experience.
The update also focuses on productivity and gaming. The AI Image Lab provides tools for photo enhancement and document shadow removal. The Ultra Game Mode includes a sidebar for performance monitoring and quick access to social apps. The Link to Windows feature has been optimised for better cross-device collaboration, allowing real-time content syncing and file management.
iQOO will release Funtouch OS 15 first for the iQOO 12, followed by the iQOO 11 in November. iQOO Neo9 Pro leads will get the update in December, followed by other Neo phones (February 2025), 9 series and Z series (mid-January to mid-May 2025).
