Google has officially launched Gemini Live for free on Android devices. Initially available as a premium feature for Gemini Advanced users, it is now rolling out globally for all Android users.
Gemini Live is Google's AI-powered assistant, introduced at the I/O 2024 conference. While similar to Google Assistant, Gemini Live is more advanced with a conversational tone and new features like the ability to pause and resume conversations.
1. Download the Gemini App: You can find it on the Play Store. Note that Gemini is not available for iPhone users yet.
2. Start Gemini Live: Once installed, tap the Gemini Live icon on the bottom right of the app to begin a conversation.
3. Pause & Resume Conversations: If you need to pause, you can pick up the conversation later without starting over.
4. Voice Options: Gemini offers 10 different voices, mostly American accents with one British accent. To change the voice, you may need to set your language to English (US) from the Gemini Settings.
Natural Conversations: Gemini Live provides an improved, more natural interaction experience.
No Transcripts: While there is no transcript of conversations, you can find your recent queries on the home screen.
Gemini Live is gradually rolling out to Android devices worldwide. Even older phones are starting to receive it, as reported by users on social media.
Gemini Live is set to enhance user experience with its powerful AI capabilities and easy-to-use features.
