Trailing by 125 runs, India posted 231/3 runs at Stumps on DAY 3 of first Test against New Zealand Heartbreaking for Kohli! He falls on the final ball of the day. Gets the faintest of edges. He was in a bit of disbelief. Took the review but the replays showed that there was a minor touch. Big blow for India. He was batting so well. New Zealand still lead by 125.

9000 runs up for Kohli in Test cricket in 197 innings. He has a batting average of 48 and has the highest Test score of unbeaten 254. Also, he has 29 centuries in his name.

Virat Kohli hit his 31st Test half-century in the final session on Day 3, and first since December 26 last year. Kohli's last Test half-century came in Centurion where he hit 76 against South Africa in the Boxing-Day Test.

Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan also hit a quickfire 50 in the second. His partnership with Kohli has crossed the 100-run mark
