Last year, Insomniac continued its open-world superhero saga with Marvel’s Spider-Man 2, which featured both Peter Parker and Miles Morales as playable characters in a darker plot that saw the introduction of classic villains like Venom and Kraven the Hunter. Spider-Man 2 was met with widespread critical acclaim and commercial success at launch, with many praising it for refining the gameplay that made Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales smash hits for PlayStation.

Like many recent first-party PlayStation titles, both Marvel’s Spider-Man and Spider-Man: Miles Morales eventually made their way onto PC by way of developer Nixxes Software, which has handled similar ports of games like Ghost of Tsushima Director's Cut and the upcoming Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered. Many fans figured it would only be a matter of time before Spider-Man 2 made the jump as well, especially given Sony’s track record of releasing games on PC a few years after their PlayStation launches.

Now it’s official: Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is coming to PC on January 30, 2025, with Nixxes stepping in once again on porting duties in collaboration with Insomniac. The news broke at New York Comic Con 2024, with a brief trailer highlighting Spider-Man 2’s story and gameplay. As reported in an article on PlayStation’s website, Nixxes Community Manager Julian Huijbregts expressed excitement at bringing last year’s hit to a wider audience with new features like enhanced ray-tracing options, though more details will be provided at a later date.

Two editions of Marvel’s Spider-Man 2’s

PC port will be available at launch. First is the Standard Edition, which features the complete Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 alongside all the post-launch updates that have been released, such as New Game Plus and an assortment of accessibility features like audio descriptions and screen reader. Then there’s the Spider-Man 2 Digital Deluxe Edition, which adds DLC suits for Peter and Miles, early unlocks for items like Peter’s Arachknight Suit and Miles’s Shadow-Spider Suit, and extra skill points at the start of the game.

Spider-Man 2 was met with high praise when it first swung onto the PlayStation 5 in October 2023,

and quickly became one of developer Insomniac’s highest-selling titles. This success will likely grow now that Spider-Man 2 is headed for PC, with fans and modders alike now able to experience the full Insomniac Spider-Man saga ahead of the eventual Spider-Man 3. While the game itself isn’t launching on PC for another few months, Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 is already available to wishlist on Steam and Epic Games Store.
