New Competitive Structure for 2025

Ubisoft has shared exciting updates about the 2025 esports season for its popular game, Rainbow Six Siege. The season will kick off with a special LAN event in May, followed by two regional league stages from June to October, and a major tournament in November. The season will wrap up in February 2026 with the Six Invitational in France.

Changes to the 2025 Ecosystem

Ubisoft is introducing a new system for 2025 to create a more sustainable and exciting esports scene. This includes:

A Challenger Series that will focus on rising and tier-two teams.

Updates to the R6 Share program, which supports teams financially.

A new season calendar with more events and opportunities for fans and players alike.

Ubisoft will continue working with tournament organizer BLAST for this new season.

Spotlight on Upcoming Teams

Before the new season officially starts, the focus will be on grassroots and lower-tier teams through the Challenger Series. This event will happen between March and April 2025, during the offseason. It will feature open qualifiers, group stages, and playoffs, giving aspiring teams a chance to join the regional leagues.

Rainbow Six Siege currently has regional leagues in different parts of the world, including Asia, Europe, North America, and others. However, it's not yet clear how many teams will be promoted to these leagues.

Changes to the R6 Share Program

In 2025, Ubisoft is making changes to its R6 Share program, which helps teams earn money from in-game items.

The updated program will:

  • Provide partner teams with two in-game item bundles each year, expanding beyond the current one-release system.
  • Limit partner teams to 20 to ensure proper resources for each team.
  • Offer more chances for fans to engage with their favorite teams, both in-game and during events.

Additionally, an Affiliate Program will provide financial help to teams that aren't part of the main partner group, though exact details about the funding haven't been shared yet.

New LAN Event in May

Replacing the traditional May Majors, Ubisoft will introduce a new LAN May Kickoff Event in 2025. This event will bring together top teams before the regional leagues start, but further details on the format are yet to be announced.
