Quick Share is one of the most popular and convenient file-sharing apps currently on the Android ecosystem. It even allows users to share files between Chromebooks and Windows devices, and soon could also be featured on iPhones and iPads. The service has been around since 2020 but is still not known by many Android users, especially if they want to transfer their data from an old device to a new one. Thankfully, Google is about to change that.

Quick Share will be enabled by default in the setup wizard: Key details

The setup wizard is an update to Google's terms for most Android manufacturers for Google Mobile Services, which requires all Android devices to show a screen during phone startup to set up the device. However, now, according to Android Authority, the new Android 15 setup process will allow users to configure Quick Share's visibility settings as they set up their new device.

The benefit of this setup addition is that users will become aware of Quick Share, as there are still many people who aren't aware of the function's existence. With this addition, Google hopes that Quick Share will become the go-to method for sharing files and as useful as AirDrop.

This will also allow Android smartphone manufacturers to customize the Quick Share setup wizard as per their preference. The new implementation will ease the file-sharing operation on multiple devices, especially if you are shifting from an old Android smartphone to a new device, and want to transfer your essential files.
