100kmph over The New Pamban Bridge

A successful high speed CRS inspection was carried out on November 14, 2024 

India's first vertical lift sea bridge i.e. Pamban bridge where the durability and strength of the bridge was tested.

The Pamban railway bridge spans a 2.06 km (1.28 mi) wide strait between the Indian mainland and Rameswaram Island in the state of Tamilnadu. The railway line connected Mandapam in mainland India and the Pamban island via the bridge.

Soon the bridge will open for train operation ferrying passengers over the sea.
