NBA 2K25's Update 3.0 sets the stage for Season 3 

with a range of updates and improvements across all modes. Highlights of the upcoming NBA 2K25 update include court and uniform changes, gameplay adjustments, and significant performance enhancements in MyCAREER, MyTEAM, and The City.

NBA 2K25, the latest installment in 2K's popular basketball series, delivered on many of its pre-launch promises with significant upgrades. Among NBA 2K25's standout features was the introduction of Ray Tracing technology in The City mode, which enhanced lighting and graphics exclusively for PC players while hinting at potential broader implementation in future titles. Additionally, the game reintroduced the much-anticipated Auction House, allowing players to use MyTEAM Points to buy, sell, and expand their card collections, a welcome comeback after its removal in NBA 2K24.

NBA 2K25 is regularly updated by developers to keep the gameplay fresh, and the latest patch prepares for the launch of Season 3 on November 29. General updates include court and jersey enhancements, such as tribute decals for NBA legends like Jerry West and Dikembe Mutombo, as well as corrections to several team uniforms. Hair dynamics have been updated for prominent players, improving visual realism, while user interface fixes ensure smoother experiences in features like the Roster Creator and Edit Player modes. Notable gameplay changes include adjustments to defensive mechanics, addressing issues like bump steals and shot clock resets, alongside AI improvements for better team coordination.

NBA 2K25's City mode receives a holiday-themed makeover, along with stability improvements and clearer reward mechanics, like displaying the time remaining on activated 2XP coins. Pro-Am updates ensure courts and uniforms refresh correctly during edits, while MyCOURT stability has been improved to prevent hangs. MyCAREER benefits from numerous fixes, ensuring smoother quest progression and resolving blockers like missing teammates in Personal Goal objectives or cinematic sequence hangs. Achievements, including the GOAT Moment for a perfect regular season, now unlock as intended. In MyTEAM, modes like Triple Threat Park now feature enabled voice chat in 3v3 Co-Op games, and dynamic duo boosts are displayed properly.

GAMEPLAY

Reduced the effectiveness of bump steals immediately after a change of possession

Right Stick Defense will now only perform hands up and no longer jump to contest layups or attempt strips

Added slightly longer "stuns" to ball handlers after successful steals to give the defense a better chance to recover the loose ball

Players are now prevented from jumping to block out of layup strips before the strip can properly play out

Fixed a rare issue in off-ball deny that would cause the offensive player to be unable to move

Fixed an issue that caused users to be forced to pass the ball immediately after fake passing on the inbound in a 3v3 or 5v5 match in the City

AI-controlled team defensive adjustments will no longer mistakenly affect MyCAREER user AI teammate defenders

The timeout counter will no longer deduct an extra timeout during the last minute of the 4th quarter in WNBA games

Fixed a couple cases of the shot clock improperly resetting or deducting time after unexpected ball to rim contact

Fixed an issue where the last few plays in a playbook would not show up in Favorite Plays due to size limitations

The Rebound and Tempo settings can now be edited when the Adaptive Coaching Engine is disabled

Defensive Matchups will no longer potentially be reset after a timeout is called

Addressed issues related to “wall pass” physics in Cage Match games.

Various stability and performance optimizations have been made to enhance the overall experience

Fixed some instances of user-reported hitching in the City when playing on certain video settings.
