Bloodborne’s online features will be unavailable 

on December 3 from 11 pm to December 4 at 3 am EST due to servers undergoing maintenance. Like other popular games developed by From Software, Bloodborne has online features, and this announcement could be inconvenient news for gamers who expected to use Online Mode during this specific December night.

Bloodborne was originally released for the PlayStation 4 in 2015, quickly becoming a huge hit. Despite being available only for the PS4, the game has sold over 7.4 million units and was widely praised by critics as one of From Software’s best games, achieving an average critic score of 91 on OpenCritic. Unlike the Dark Souls games, Bloodborne was set in the decrepit Gothic city of Yharnam, and its unique setting was among the highlights that made the game quickly become such a beloved title to its fan base.

Now, gamers are discovering that Bloodborne will undergo maintenance soon and that Online Mode will be unavailable on December 3 from 11 pm to December 4 at 3 am EST, according to a message that appears when gamers start the title. While Bloodborne will still be playable during these four hours, many gamers like to play with Online Mode because of how it works. Not only can gamers help each other defeat powerful bosses in Bloodborne while playing online, but they can also find helpful messages left by other players. Considering that Bloodborne still has a high player count many years after its release, it’s unclear how many players will actually be affected by these maintenance times.

When Will Bloodborne Be Offline?

While maintenance times are inconvenient for some players, the most noteworthy bad news for fans of the franchise in 2024 is that From Software is not developing a Bloodborne PC port. Despite speculation from the community, interviews with insiders such as Jeff Grubb have recently demonstrated that a remaster or a PC port is not likely to happen right now.

In other, less official ways, it seems that Bloodborne may indeed come to PC via emulation. Recent reports indicate that the PC emulation of Bloodborne has made a big breakthrough recently, as the shadPS4 emulator has fixed some of the worst issues with emulating the game. While it’s currently possible to emulate Bloodborne on PC, the emulation has countless bugs, and severe sound issues, some of which have been fixed recently, but there is still some time to go before Bloodborne can finally be fully playable without issues on PC.
