as newly released capture footage shows off a number of parkour-like abilities. The next chapter of Fortnite is set to kick off very soon, and the addition of new movement options appears to be just a small piece of what developer Epic Games has in store for players.
Titled "Hunters," Fortnite Chapter 6 Season 1 has a release date set for December 1, 2024. Epic Games has been relatively sparse with officially releasing the details about what's coming in the game's next chapter, but multiple leaks have helped to fill in some of that information, and the reveal of the new movement abilities seems to have divided the fanbase.
The new movement options have been shown off in a video attached to a Twitter post by FNAssist, a page that frequently publishes Fortnite news, leaks, and more. Although the video is brief, at only eight seconds long, that's still enough time to showcase four of the new moves that players will be able to pull off. As detailed by the social media post, the heroes of Fortnite will be able to pull off wall runs, wall kicks, launch jumping, and ground rolls once the Season 6 content launches, adding more ways of getting around and dodging enemy attacks.

The leaked movement abilities seem to have players split down the middle, with some welcoming the changes and others upset with Epic Games' diversion from the classic Fortnite formula. Players on both sides of the issue are pointing out how the new abilities will be most useful in Fortnite's Zero Build gameplay, with their supporters happy for additional mobility options and detractors wishing that Epic would commit more resources to other game modes.
Both official trailers and independently dug-up leaks for Fortnite Chapter 6 have revealed that it will be heavily inspired by feudal Japan, featuring skins and environments that meld the modern world with imagery more fitting of a more brightly colored 12th century Kyoto. Leaked points of interest in this new game world include a demon arena in which players can engage in battles against computer-controlled opponents and an industrial town featuring two massive towers belching out purple steam. In terms of other movement options, its expected that players will be able to make their characters go prone for the first time, as well as giving them the ability to swing on ropes and utilize a hook shot item, though it's not clear if they will be added on December 1 or in later seasons..
