Cyberpunk 2077 is a popular video game RPG originally released in 2020. After continually improving the game over the course of nearly three years, CD Projekt Red released its award-winning DLC, Phantom Liberty, in 2023. While it has been rumored that the game could be crossing over with Fortnite, this is the first time fans have received official confirmation.

Epic Games recently launched this year's annual Winterfest within Fortnite. During the 14-day event, players can log into the game daily to receive free rewards. Fortnite players will even be given two free skins over the holiday season, one of which appears to be the santa-themed version of Snoop Dogg sitting within the game's winter lodge. The collaboration between Fortnite and Snoop Dogg began in November and has proven to be one of many recent crossovers.

Fortnite recently posted a teaser on Twitter showing off new skins of Cyberpunk 2077's V and Johnny Silverhand in the popular battle royale. According to content creators who were given early access by Epic Games, the cosmetics will release on December 23 when Fortnite's Item Shop resets. In addition to the skins, fans can expect to see harvesters, backblings, a wrap, and a new vehicle for sale as well. So far, many fans seem to be enthusiastic about the design of the iconic characters, which is great news for Epic Games. In another recent collaboration, some fans were upset about the appearance of Beyond the Spider-Verse's Peter B. Parker in Fortnite.

While all of the cosmetics are being generally well-received, some fans are particularly excited about V's harvester, the Mantis Blades. Characters who use the harvester will wear them on their wrists. However, when specifically equipped with V, the Mantis Blades will be hidden within her arms and pop out like they do in Cyberpunk 2077. Many players have noticed the sudden surge in collaborations around the holidays, as Fortnite also recently crossed over with Skibidi Toilet and DC Comics.

In a turn of events that surprised many fans, Fortnite also collaborated with Mariah Carey to celebrate Winterfest. After the game's most recent update, a large block of ice appeared on the battle royale map. Once the ice thawed, players were greeted by Mariah Carey singing her famous song, "All I Want for Christmas Is You." The iconic singer recently premiered two skins within the game alongside a host of other cosmetics. With so many collaborations and special events happening in the game recently, many fans are enthusiastic about Fortnite and its future going into 2025.
