The gap between Funtouch OS 15 and other Android 15-based custom OSes is vast—practically night and day. A phone can boast top-tier hardware like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2, but without equally strong software, it’s a wasted opportunity. Sadly, Funtouch OS feels like it’s stuck in the past, outdated by at least five years when compared to polished systems like OxygenOS, MIUI, HyperOS, or One UI.
Even a new player like Nothing has managed to deliver a remarkable custom ROM, raising the question: why can’t iQOO or Vivo do the same?
Funtouch OS falls short in innovation and fails to leverage hardware to its full potential. Custom ROMs like One UI shine with features like a superior notification center, and OxygenOS's Fluid Cloud addition is fantastic. Meanwhile, Funtouch OS lags behind, offering nothing that truly stands out.
I strongly urge iQOO to prioritize software development. Borrow the best ideas from competitors if needed, but don’t stop there—innovate beyond them. My iQOO Neo9 Pro only has two major updates left after this month’s Android 15 update (Android 16 and 17), making it critical for Funtouch OS to evolve. Without significant changes, it risks becoming irrelev
ant.
