At CES 2025, Nvidia showcased the evolution of its AI-driven ACE technology, moving beyond mere chatbots to deliver autonomous game characters designed to enhance your gaming experience. Among the highlights is the PUBG Ally, a groundbreaking Co-Playable Character (CPC) set to launch later this year.
1.This AI teammate is designed to:
2.Communicate in game-specific lingo.
3.Offer real-time strategic recommendations.
4.Locate and share loot.
5.Drive vehicles and engage in combat with human-like tactics.
Powered by Nvidia’s Small Language Models (SLMs), the Ally can perceive, plan, and act in real-time, adapting to the dynamic environment of PUBG. A demo showed impressive features like flanking opponents, bringing vehicles to teammates, and delivering loot—all through natural language interaction.
Nvidia’s ACE-powered characters are set to appear in other games:
Naraka: Bladepoint will introduce AI teammates on its mobile and PC versions in 2025.
inZOI, Krafton’s life simulation game, will feature “Smart Zoi” CPCs for immersive gameplay.
MIR5 by Wemade Next plans to incorporate AI-powered boss battles.
While the concept is exciting, the demo was pre-recorded, raising questions about its real-world performance. However, the potential of these AI teammates to revolutionize gaming is undeniable.
