The local co-op mode will arrive to the Sony and Microsoft consoles on January 14, with no confirmation given for local co-op on other platforms.

Fortnite still lacks a dedicated controller peripheral for Fortnite Festival's drums and microphone, with fans still required to use the console's standard controller.

Fortnite is heavily rumored to be adding a major collaboration with Hatsune Miku, expected to introduce multiple jam tracks to Festival.

Epic Games has even hinted at the crossover itself, posting an image of a leek on Fortnite Festival's official social media as a reference to popular Hatsune Miku cover "Ievan Polkka."

Fortnite's local co-op support should look to bring back one of the best elements of Rock Band and Guitar Hero's glory days.
