Tech Insights | Part 5 – Discover New Hidden Gems in Your iQOO Device

In this part, we'll explore some of the latest and coolest functionalities that can take your iQOO experience to the next level. Whether it's new security features, smarter ways to interact with your phone, or enhanced performance options, there's always something new to discover. Let's dive right in!

Heads Up Feature

Integrated within the Digital Wellbeing , the Heads Up feature reminds users to stay alert while walking. When enabled, it detects motion and periodically prompts you to look up from your screen, enhancing safety during movement.

To activate:

  • Open Settings > Digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls.
  • Scroll down and tap on Heads Up.
  • Grant necessary permissions, such as Physical Activity and Notification Access.
  • Optionally, enable Location Access for improved accuracy.

Once set up, your device will alert you to stay aware of your surroundings when it detects you're walking and using your phone simultaneously.

Theft Detection Lock

iQOO devices have introduced the Theft Detection Lock, which utilizes AI and sensor data to identify sudden, forceful movements indicative of theft. If such motion is detected, the device automatically locks, preventing unauthorized access to your personal data.

To enable:

  • Navigate to Settings > Search box
  • Write Theft Detection Lock and click on it.
  • Ensure that Offline Device Lock is also enabled to maintain security even when the device is disconnected from the internet.

This feature adds an extra layer of protection by locking your device upon detecting suspicious movements.

 Smart Mirroring

iQOO devices offer a Smart Mirroring feature that allows you to seamlessly cast your screen onto compatible TVs or monitors. This is particularly useful for presentations, watching videos on a larger screen, or gaming.

To activate:

  • Navigate to Settings > Bluetooth and devices .
  • Ensure your device and the target display are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Select the device you wish to mirror your screen to.

This feature enhances your viewing experience by providing a larger display option.

 Live Caption

The Live Caption feature automatically generates captions for any audio or video playing on your device. This is useful for those who prefer watching content silently or for accessibility purposes.

To enable:

  • Open Settings > Shortcuts and accessibility > Accessibility Live Caption.
  • Toggle it on.
  • Customize caption settings, such as text size or language, for a better experience.

 Task Timer

The Task Timer feature on iQOO devices allows you to schedule various tasks like enabling vibration mode, turning on/off airplane mode, or setting a countdown vibration timer. This feature helps automate phone settings according to your routine, providing more control over your device.

To set up:

  • Go to Settings > Shortcut and accessibilityTask Timer.
  • Select the task you want to schedule, such as Vibration Mode, Power On/Off, or Airplane Mode.
  • Customize the time period (e.g., schedule airplane mode from 11 PM to 7 AM).
  • Enable the Countdown Vibration Timer if you want the device to vibrate for a specific duration.

This feature is perfect for those who prefer a more automated and personalized phone experience!
