Director: Imtiaz Ali
Cast: Ranbir Kapoor, Nargis Fakhri, A.R. Rahman (Music)
"Rockstar" follows the journey of Janardhan Jakhar (Ranbir Kapoor), a naïve college boy who transforms into Jordan, a troubled and iconic rockstar. His journey begins with a heartbreak caused by Heer Kaul (Nargis Fakhri), his love interest, and escalates as he navigates fame, personal struggles, and emotional turmoil. The movie delves into themes of love, ambition, and the price of fame.
Ranbir Kapoor delivers one of the finest performances of his career. His portrayal of Jordan's vulnerability, angst, and charisma is compelling and authentic. Nargis Fakhri, although less impactful in emotive scenes, complements Ranbir's intensity with her graceful presence.
A.R. Rahman's soundtrack is the soul of "Rockstar." Songs like "Kun Faya Kun," "Jo Bhi Main," and "Nadaan Parindey" perfectly capture the emotional depth of the film. Mohit Chauhan's voice as Jordan's playback singer leaves an indelible mark.
Imtiaz Ali's storytelling is layered, blending a non-linear narrative with emotional depth. The screenplay explores the dark side of fame and the complexities of unfulfilled love, though some parts of the second half feel dragged.
The visuals, shot by Anil Mehta, are breathtaking. From Delhi's streets to the scenic landscapes of Kashmir and Prague, the film creates a vivid atmosphere that mirrors Jordan's inner journey.
Ranbir Kapoor’s career-defining performance.
A.R. Rahman’s unforgettable music.
Emotionally resonant storytelling.
"Rockstar" is a deeply emotional film that explores the intertwined paths of love, pain, and artistic brilliance. While it has its flaws, the raw energy of Ranbir Kapoor and A.R. Rahman’s music make it an unforgettable experience.i don't feel any negative for this movie
