Let us now dive into the fantabulous world of suits and let us start of with exploring the characters that recur throughout the series.

Also keep in mind there are more than 200 people who have played in suits ,but i will not be able to cover them , instead only the main characters and crucial characters will be briefed:-

Harvey Specter

• Portrayed by Garbriel Macht.
• An Harvard law alumni who works at one of the top law firms in new york city.
• Jessica Pearson notices his talent after putting him in the mail room ,later paying for his degree at harward and later pursuing him to work as assistant district attorney for cameron dennis(district attorney for new york).
• Joins back Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke under mentee of Jessica Pearson helps them to stage a coup along with Daniel Hardman to kick out all existing partners at Gordon Schmidt Van Dyke.
• Raises through the ranks first becoming junior partner then senior partner , advancing to name partner finally taking reigns as Managing partner.
• End of season 9 leaves the current firm to go join Mike Ross and Rachel Zane in Seattle.
• Has various love flings and end finally tying the knot with his personal secretary Donna Paulsen at the final episode of season 9.
• Also officially termed as New York's best closer.
• Has a brother named Marcus Specter ,who was a former gambler addicted now runs a restaurant .
• Found out his Mother was cheating with his Dad;s friend and remained silent on it .
• he eventually left house due to not feeling comfortable.

 Jessica Pearson

• Portrayed by Gina Torres
• Born and brought up in Chicago,Illinois
• Hired by Charles Van dyke
• is sucessfully in ousting all name partners
• Becomes Managing partner along with Daniel Hardmen
• is second time sucessful in ousting Hardman from his own company along with aide of Harvey Specter and Mike Ross
• has Ex-Husband Quentin Sainz(Cameo's)
• Love fling- Jeff Malone
• Moves to Chicago to take on more  Pro Bono's ( personal related cases ) and also Jeff Malone also had moved to Chicago earlier.
• Has a spin-off series titled Pearson which narrates her new work environment in Chicago and how she works at the Mayors office as his Aide.
• Shortly after her move to Chicago the New York Bar office disbars and forfeits her to practice law as she was party to fraud in Mike Ross's Doctored New York bar license and dummy documents of his Harvard Degree.

Micheal a.ka. Mike Ross

• Portrayed by Patrick J.Adams.
• He has photographic memory .
• His parents were killed in DUI accident, the Attorney at that time did sub-par justice to him and his Grandma Edith Ross.
• This motivated him to take up legal studies and become an attorney.
• He could not become a lawyer due a past incident-will be explained in the right season recap.
• He manages successfully  to convince Harvey Specter inspite of not being an attorney officially.
• dates his co-worker Rachel Zane and ends marrying her.
• he is a fan of pro-bono .
• he get caught with fraud by the department of justice .
• after this he finds a legitimate way to enter the bar and is sucessful in entering the New York Bar.
• he later moves to Seattle with Rachel Zane to do only pro bono cases only.

Rachel Zane

• Portrayed by Megan Markle.
• is a paralegal at Pearson Hardman.
• is unsucessful in cracking SAT's initally .
• finally cracks SAT's under the guidance of Mike Ross and begins pursuing law, due to relation with mike ,admission into law school become complicated and finally enrolls in Columia University and ultimately graduates to become a new york lawyer.
• has previous flings with one of pearson hardman client who was married.
• ties knot with mike ross in season 7.
• moves with mike to seattle at the end of season 7.

Donna Paulsen

• Portrayed by Sarah Rafferty.
• has no prior experiences in working in law firms .
• was actress and waiter formerly.
• met Harvey Specter at a bar and expressed to work as a secretary while his tenure as the assistant district attorney.
• works like a charm and is very effective in helping harvey and protect him from grave dangers at various occasions .
• leave in between to work for Louis Litt for a while and later returns back to harvey.
• also raises through the ranks and finally sumits cheque for the role of COO-Chief Operating Office .
• Accepts proposal from harvey specter in the final episode of Season 9.

Louis Litt

• Portrayed by Rick Hoffman.
• Born and brought up in scarsdale New York.
• was a frequent victim to bullying at high school .
• Graduated from Harvard Law ,and gets order of the choif (will be explained later)..
• Helps Daniel Hardman until he finds out ulterior motive of Hardman and oust him post the discovery.
• is first a junior partner then a senior partner moving to a name partner and is currently the managing partner .
• Is easily swayable by personal emotions which ultimately botch the hearing he is first chair to .
• Marries his love fling Sheila Sazs in season 9 and has baby girl .
• has a hate love relation with Harvey specter as both cannot settle on one particular thing.

Sheila Sazs

• Portrayed by Rachael Harris.
• She is an employee of Harvard University.
• is brought into the firm by Louis Litt to assess life quality expectations after the results tanked .
• have on-off on flings with Louis Litt.
• Moves to Columbia University after her Fiance moves there.
• At the end of the day ends up with louis Litt with whom she has a baby.

Katrina Bennett

• Portrayed by Amanda Schull.
• brought to the firm as fifth year associate by Harvey Specter to close a deal.
• becomes a name partner at the firm after serving as a senior partner under the guidance of Louis Litt.
• becomes a mentor to Brian Altman , as it is a criteria to supervise some under the senior partner program.

Robert Zane

• Portrayed by Wendell Pierce.
• is the father to Rachel Zane.
• is managing partner at Rand Kaldor Zane.
• later joins hands with Louis Litt and takes title of managing partner at zane Specter Litt.
• is disbarred by the New york bar to save the firm (details later).
• is a mentor to Samantha Wheeler.
• is married to Laura Zane .

Samantha Wheeler a.ka. Sam Wheeler

• Portrayed by katherine Heigl.
• Helps Robert Zane in various Jams and is his personal fixer.
• she and harvey have striking behavior which is similar .
• does Kick boxing in leisure time and to cool off steam.

Gretchen Bodinski

• Portrayed by Aloma Wright.
• is first introduced as Harvey Specter's personal assistant after donna left that position .
• Later becomes Louis Secretary and then becomes an executive Secretary to the firm .
• Her vast knowlege and previous experiences help the firm when it is most needed.
• is very effecrively in calming down Louis Litt, as his personal Secretary.

Benjamin

• Portrayed by David Reale.
• is the IT main head and is the go to guy for fixing the tech stuff .
• has crucial moments through out the series.
• is a foodie,and chugs a lot of red bulls.

Daniel Hardman

• Portrayed by David Costablie .
• runs the firm along with Jessica until he is ousted.
• from then on he tries every chance he gets to get the firm to its knees or the disbar Harvey.
• is an old ally of Robert Zane.

Alex Williams

• Portrayed by Dule Hill .
• is old friend of Harvey Specter .
• is brought over from Bratton Gould under the reigns of Harvey Specter.
• Has a wife who is also a attorney and a daughter who has cameo appearances throughout the series.
• finally becomes a name partner along with Samantha.
