Hello, Questers!

Hope you’re all doing well! In this thread, I’m excited to share my user review of Funtouch OS 15 after upgrading from Funtouch OS 14. I know many of you have been eagerly waiting for this, so let’s dive right in!

Tagline: A New Era of Smooth

Funtouch OS 15 embraces its tagline perfectly, as it is powered by Origin Animation from Origin OS. The focus on animation and smoothness truly redefines the user experience.

Animations: The Core of Smoothness

The animation upgrades are stunning. The smooth transitions across the UI provide a fluid experience that stands out. It’s noticeable everywhere, elevating the experience and making the tagline feel well-earned.

Control Center

Some users may feel the Control Center hasn’t changed much, but I disagree. There are subtle design changes and some neat animations added to the icons, which I really liked.

However, I miss the brightness bar icon placement from Funtouch OS 14—it felt more convenient.

Home Screen, Lock Screen, Widgets, and Icons

The customization options have evolved significantly:

Icon Customization:

You can now hide icon names and view them with a long press—an excellent touch from the design team.

Wallpapers:

The immersive wallpapers brighten up your mood every time you unlock your phone.

AODs (Always-On Displays):

With so many new options, picking one is tough—I personally love about 70% of them!

Origin OS Clock Style:

The new clock styles on the home screen are trendy yet elegant.

Depth Effect on the Lock Screen:

This feature adds a refined touch, though I hope for more customization options in future updates.

Ultra Game Mode

For Neo 7 Pro users, the long-awaited TSR (Touch Sampling Rate) customization has arrived! You can now adjust the refresh rate and TSR directly in the game. This makes the gaming experience much more immersive.

Waiting for an FPS meter next—it’s essential for gaming strategies!

Albums

The Album UI has been revamped with an AI enhancer that significantly improves photo clarity. I’m looking forward to an AI eraser feature in the future—it would be a game-changer.

The redesigned Settings app looks fresh and well-organized, with new icons that are visually appealing. Navigation is much more intuitive compared to the previous version.

Productivity Features

Funtouch OS 15 is productivity-friendly, with:

Screen Recorder with Live Sketch: Perfect for creating tutorials or jotting down ideas in real time.

Link to Windows: A much-needed feature that enhances multitasking.

Battery Management Improvements

The upper limit charging system is a standout feature.

You can now set an upper limit for charging, protecting the battery from overcharging and extending its lifespan—a much-needed addition!

Notable Additions on the Z9X

Surprisingly, my Z9X received many missing features from the Neo and number series, such as animation selection, circle-to-search, AI photo enhancer, and more. This is a huge win for Z9X users!

In a Nutshell

Funtouch OS 15 delivers a refined UI design, improved icon packs, and logic-based animations that enhance smoothness.

Gamers will love the new TSR adjusters and refresh rate controls.

Wallpapers, AODs, and customizations bring more personality to the UI.

Looking Forward To:

Better UI transitions without any lag

Realtime widgets for weather and Jovi

Video watermark like flagships

FPS meter for gaming control center like flagships

Battery health stats

Call AI translation

Video wallpaper for calls

Final Thoughts

Funtouch OS 15, based on Android 15, is off to an excellent start. While it’s a trial update and there are a few bugs, regular feedback will help refine the experience further.
